We all have to start somewhere...

My Floristry student - she is currently in the sixth form at St Christophers' High School, Accrington, where she is a 'pathways' student.  She expressed her interest in Floristry, as a keen artist, to me in Year 11, and came to help out on a few occasions.  Now in the sixth form, I have worked together with the school, to buy in the NVQ level 2 Floristry course, which between the teachers and myself, we are now delivering, on an academic and practical side...  She finds the vocational route the best for her, as she has moderate learning difficulties.  She comes to work with me every Friday, and more at busy periods, where we work together learning all the skills necessary in running a Florist shop, from serving customers, conditioning stock, making up designs and of course sweeping up which she loves!!  Keep up the good work, you're doing great, a pleasure to teach and work with!!
A Spring basket design created by her...
First tastes of wedding work, a solid rose hand tied design...
Some Valentines Day designs, made by her,  ready for displaying for sale in the shop...

A part finished aqua packed bouquet that she has been working on, and above this, getting to grips with wiring and taping skills on a carnation buttonhole...
Now nearing completion, adding the all important water and flower food mixture...
